SECRETS OF SALAH WORKSHOP

 

Synopsis:

The nuances of religion cannot be written down. It has to be experienced. Communication is the way one can experience the Deen. This communication is possible through the practice of solat. This Ramadhan workshop will share the spiritual message and guidance we can receive during Solat so that we can experience spiritual transformation.

 

Topics include

  • solat in Quran and Hadith

  • history of solat

  • the intention when approaching solat

  • inner dimensions of solat and wudhu Parts 1 & 2

  • humility & awareness in solat

  • spiritual experiences in solat

ABOUT THE SPEAKER

 

Muhsin Hamzah is currently pursuing his Masters Degree in Arts and Social Change at Starr King School for the Ministry in Berkeley, California. Co- founded Being Life Series and Being Centre, a space where seekers can bridge the journey of deep change and at the same time realizing their roots in community. His book “Mercy for the Soul”  has been used as a text book to guide seekers through a five week journey within to realize the Mercy within. Muhsin has a social vision that sees deep spiritual change can have a broad positive social transformation for the community. Muhsin also believes in working in an environment of multi faith and inter communal.

 

Born and raised in Singapore, received his early Islamic education from his grandfather the late Ustaz Mohamed Ibrahim Mohamed Kassim and other Islamic teachers in Singapore. He also completed his Post Graduate Diploma in Islamic Studies from IIUM in Singapore. He spent most of his youth actively with different Islamic learning circles in Singapore he is also the co-founder of Al-Fathhu Traditional Learning Center, Singapore.

THE 7 HABITS OF A MU'MIN WORKSHOP

 

Synopsis:

The self is connected with the community. How we think, feel and act leave an impact on those around us. Thus, it is important for us to have good interpersonal skills so that a harmonious balance can be maintained. This special Ramadhan workshop aims to share the habits to develop integrity to be a successful Mu'min in both one's personal and working life.

 

This workshop will draw learning points from 'THE SEVEN EXCELLENT HABITS OF A SUCCESSFUL MU'MIN' written by the late Ustaz Mohamed Ibrahim Mohamed Kassim where he highlighted the spiritual habits described by Allah in the Quran and how these habits will create sustainable changes within ourselves and the community.

 

Topics include:

  • purpose of creation

  • khushu' in Solat

  • active charity

  • steering away from vanity

  • abstaining from undesirable acts

  • observing trust faithfully

  • cultivating good habits

  • guarding five daily prayers faithfully

  • honouring one's promises
